Somuch....

So much for all those plans I had for today....
I started right on track...headed to the oral surgeon to have my wisdom tooth checked out...Didn't expect him to pull it right then!
Nope, no shopping for today...I'm going to spend my day resting.
Ouch!

D, Y & I saw and heard R' Shteinman today. Just seeing a gadol - even if you don't understand his speech (Yiddish)- is awesome... If only - hopefully - it'll leave a lasting impression.

This and That...

Ups and Downs....

So much is going on around here.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but a short while back my computer was struck by lightening. Bye-bye to the monitor and something's wrong with the modem. So meanwhile, I'm only signing on from work or my laptop (remember when I used to write from Broken Laptop Land and then I finally got a new one on ebay??). So I don't get to check out all the sites...here and there I do, though.
I have a little yummy next to me right now. He's fussing a bit. He's wearing a "choo-choo" train outfit and whenver I'd say, "choo-choo" he'd laugh. Fussing and laughing together is hysterical!
Another one of my friends recently got separated from her husband...it's so sad. Is it something wrong with the shidduch system or what? what's going on around here?
I can't figure out how to put the picture up....is there a way to put pictures on blogger that I have on my computer?

Close Call

Someone I know had car trouble erev Yom Tov and did not set out to their hosts until about 2 1/2 hours before Yom Tov. That wouldn't be a problem if they were staying with someone in the same city, but they were going to another STATE.
If that was me, with a 2 1/2 hour drive, I wouldn't want to cut it so close. I'd rather inconvenience someone in my neighborhood by calling last minute to invite my family over. What if we got stuck in some traffic? A few minutes would mean the difference between shkiya and not shkiya. Chillul Shabbos or walking a few miles.
They drove 100 mph on the highway. They made it with 1 minute until shkiya.
A close call. They're lucky. But is it worth the risk?
When travelling away on an Erev Shabbos or Yom Tov, leave with adequate time, keeping in mind possible rain, traffic, etc. Don't take a risk.
