Mrs. Mosquito is retiring. At least temporarily.
When she first started visiting hock sites and reading hockersinc, it was a lively, thriving board.
Now it's quiet.
Everyone's too busy on Hashkofa.com. Not that I'm blaming it, and not that hockersinc needs to exist. But I'm just explaining why I won't be hocking for a while (or forever). Cuz I don't have readers!
I will therefore, from now on, write elsewhere.
Farewell.
Nice knowing you.

This hock was inspired by and is dedicated to the one and only Pazz. We love you, dear. ;)
One is on her way home from work and she feels a drip on her nose.
Drip.
Drip.
Drop.
It begins as a drizzles and ends up a steady rain that soaks her shirt and ruins her shaitel. Her first thought is, "Ugh! My shaitel needs to be redone, I have to change when I get home, there goes our trip to the park..." and an endless barrage of kvetches can surely come.
Will she melt? No. Is she harmed? B"H Definately not.
I love the rain.
So what if I get a little wet. So what if the hair needs to be re-blow-dried. So what? So what? So what?
I love to take deep breaths and smell the moist air, especially in the country-side. It's a love to feel the gishmei bracha patter on my back and soak into my skin. Aaahh.....the love of rain.
There's nothing like it!

A Hock About Dishes?!?
It's Erev Erev Shabbos and time to start thinking of the Shabbos menu. Lately I've been thinking about how life can get mandane at time. Wake up. Daven. Eat breakfast. Do dishes. Make lunch. Do dishes. Make supper. Do dishes. Okay, maybe my life isn't THAT boring. But you know what I mean. B"H It's not. But some activities can get boring when done over & over again. Like doing dishes. But that doesn't mean doing dishes is bad.
In fact, doing dishes is very, very good! When I do dishes it means that I've eaten! It means I have food B"H to satisfy my hunger and give nutrition to my cells. It means I have dishes to eat from. It means I have (an) other(s) in my family to feed, as well. Those are all brochos. B"H for food, B"H for family...B"H for hot water to wash the dishes and hands to do them, as well!
When we think that way, mundane chores become brochos! They're blessings to try to enjoy!
In my guestbook, besides for comments on the hocks, I'd like to hear suggestions from others on other "boring" or "hard" tasks that we can really see as brochos! Write in your ideas here!

The Being Busy Theory
A new hock site opens.
Fireworks.
Headlines.
Is that what I expected?
No, I didn't. But even worse.... everyone's away! I'm updating for myself...and QSAT!
But that's what happens when people get busy with their summer vacations and go away.... I'll just go silently and anonymously updating....
So what's this theory I mentioned in my title, you're wondering about? I'm not really sure of it myself. It's still undergoing research. The contemplations of the theory is that the evolution of hocker-species into non-hocker-species is only possible when the accumulation of being busy with things confugulate people's lives. And at this poing, it seems, people's lives are confugulated. So people who are too confugulated with busy things, don't check out websites. They're so busy and confugulated that they might not notice new hockers or even old hockers. (HM?)
But I'm updating anyway.
I will be joining hockersinc in a short while. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you better. Sign my guestbook please and let me know what you're confugulated with right now.

I'm back from my "extended vacation." I hope you didn't think that I deserted you. Sometimes people get busy with their lives and you think they've forgotten about you. It happens when a person changes into a high school, goes to seminary, gets married, has kids.... Tracks switch lanes and friends go in different directions. But although you may not hear from someone for a while, it doesn't mean they don't care about you. Pick up the phone and YOU make the move to say hello if they haven't called you lately. See if your friend is still interested in keeping in touch. Don't assume someone's forgotten you just because they've gotten busy with life.
Friendships are too important to let die because of misunderstandings. Today call one friend you haven't spoken to in a few days or longer just to say "hi." Show them you care.
Have a great week!
Please sign my guestbook!! ;)

SMILING!
“Smile there,
Ain’t you glad you’re living
Think of all the giving you can do.”
Sometimes it’s while speaking with a friend.
Other times from hearing an inspiring song.
Perhaps you get it from watching children playing in the park.
Or reading your favorite book.
Whatever makes YOU smile is something special to you.
Smiling is a beautiful thing. It’s contagious (like a yawn! CC’s input) and spreading simcha is such a tremendous mitzvah. By smiling not only will you feel good, others will as well.
Sometimes we don’t feel like smiling. Life is rough. Things are bothering us. Tzoros surround us. That’s when we should smile even more. There’s a posuk that the outside effects the inside. If you smile outside enough, hopefully you feel better inside.
So try it: smile! Forget those problems. Push aside those worries. Smile!
And have a wonderful day!!
"You're never fully dressed without a smile!"
Thank you to CrazyCat for inspiring this hock.
Thank you to QSAT for her help in areas regarding my site set-up.
Thank you all for leaving feedback here. ;)
