Lol.
I guess some people might notice an update but not read it.
No, Mindy....The other update you never posted...and if you would've read it...you would've known how I noticed you didn't read it.
Thanks to those of you who eventually saw it! LOL! I wanna keep updating here sometimes -- but only if people read it!! :) That was my test...

Mindy,
You haven't noticed the last update yet ;)
You sure it's still in your favorite places folder?

Do I worry enough??
We had our first Shabbos guests. B"H I don't think they left hungry. I hope not, at least. :)
Tonight is the siyum for my grandmother's first yartzeit. I made macaroni salad for it. I hope people like it. I hope there's not too much. I hope there's enough. Do you think I'm worried enough?

Guests & Sleep
Hiya, Y'all!
We had guests last night - my mother and sister. My father came a bit later after his shiur. It was nice to have guests. I made veggie soup (which my dh is quite fond of!) and tacos...yummm! Leftovers were put in the freezer, with some of the challah I made yesterday...the freezer is quite full. I think next week I won't have to do any cooking. I should start emptying out my fridge.
I hear a kid upstairs trying to blow a shofar. Us, ladies, don't go to shul every day and get the wake up call. But it's Elul!
URU YESHAINIM B'SHNASCHEM!! "Wake up, you sleep ones, from your sleep!"
Good morning & a good Shabbos!!

Missing?!?
The missing girls were found. Boruch HaShem.
How many times are we missing? I don't mean in the literal sense: we know where we live, where we're going physically...but do we always know where we're going b'ruchniyus?
That's a hard one.
Elul is here.
Time to decide.
"AYEKUH?" Hashem asked Adam. "Where are you?"
It's that time of year. Time to decide where you are and where you're going.
That's hard. Especially as a typical busy woman, with family, work, school...Anyone have any suggestions how we can make the most of Chodesh Elul?
Please post LONG comments in the guestbook (link below) or email me if there's something really good you think I should post on my regular blogger page.
A good day!
PS Mazel Tov to EB & MH on their engagement! (No, not THAT EB!)
PPS Mazel Tov to Mr & Mrs M on their 2-month anniversary! (hey, I could stick that one in, right? esp. since many hockers missed my b-day!)

People have been asking how I came up with my name.

ON THE STREETS OF NEW YORK
I went on a walk with my husband Shabbos afternoon.
Ocean Parkway.
Between J & L.
You would not believe what we saw there.
Parrots!
Yes, real live parrots, living on the streets of Brooklyn. I wanted to catch one! They were not in cages, not in a show, but in the trees. There was about 10-15 of them, living along with the pigeons and sparrows.
Some things you never expect to see in certain places. And what a wonderful surprise when you do see them!
